Hill House, St Mary Bourne, near Andover, Hampshire

This unique project involved our acting for a private client in co-ordinating a planning application for a new access off a B-road and a new, architect-designed, vehicular bridge over a river designated as a Notifiable Watercourse. The site lay within the sensitive landscape of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and within St Mary Bourne’s Conservation Area. Despite these significant constraints, the application was granted by Planning Officers acting under delegated powers; and a subsequent application to the Environment Agency for its consent to construct the new bridge was also granted very quickly. We co-ordinated both submissions, working closely with our client and a consultant team including architects, transport consultants, consultant engineers, landscape consultants and our client’s appointed contractors.
